Paseo South Gulch Already Runs a Full Day. Its Big Anchors Are Still Coming in 2027.

November 5, 2026

Paseo South Gulch, SomeraRoad's development on the 600 and 700 blocks of 8th Avenue South, has gained a lunch spot and lost a sandwich shop since summer. Its best-known future tenant is still a membership showroom. Naked Farmer has opened at 620 8th Ave S. All'Antico Vinaio's Gulch location has closed. Equinox, which will be Tennessee's first club, is now expected in early 2027. Pendry's 30-story hotel and residences tower is also expected in 2027.

So the Paseo you can walk into in mid-November is the daily-use part of the plan. A smoothie bar opens at 7 a.m., the vet and the coffee counter open at 8, and lunch starts at 11. The cocktail rooms open at 4 and 5 p.m., and one of them stays open until 2 a.m. The parking rules are built for that kind of visit too: an hour or an hour and a half, depending on whose door you walk through.

One Address, Five Doors

Paseo's own directory groups its tenants by building. The Antiques Building holds Blind Barber, Carter Vintage Guitars, GoodVets, Maíz de la Vida and Two Hands. The Voorhees Building holds Equinox, The Catbird Seat and The Patterson House. Naked Farmer, Next Health and SunLife Organics are at Prima.

On the tenants' own websites, the five businesses in the Antiques Building all use the same street number, 606 8th Ave S, and tell themselves apart by suite. Maíz de la Vida is Store 100, Carter Vintage is Suite 201 and Two Hands is Store 400. GoodVets and Blind Barber list 606 8th Ave S as well. This matters if you're sending someone a pin. One address takes in a vet clinic, a guitar shop, a barbershop with a bar behind it, an all-day café and a Mexican restaurant.

A few doors south, SunLife Organics lists 624 8th Ave S, Suite C, and Next Health lists 616 8th Ave S. At the other end, The Patterson House is on the fifth floor at 700 8th Avenue South. The Catbird Seat describes its current home as the top of the Bill Voorhees Building on 8th Avenue South and takes reservations online.

A Day on the Block, Hour by Hour

Line up the posted hours and the development covers nearly 19 hours of a weekend day, starting at 7 a.m. Each business keeps its own schedule, so the table below uses the hours listed on each tenant's own site.

Blind Barber Backroom 606 8th Ave S Wed to Sun, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The early-morning tenants are a smoothie bar, an all-day café and a vet. The Patterson House says it welcomes walk-ins alongside a limited number of reservations, so a weeknight drink can be decided on the walk over. The one gap in the day is on Maíz de la Vida's schedule, which closes between lunch at 3 p.m. and dinner at 5.

The Newest Door, and the One That Closed

Naked Farmer fits the daytime pattern. Nashville Lifestyles reported in August that the restaurant was bringing its second Nashville location to 620 8th Ave S in Paseo South Gulch, and founder and CEO Jordan Johnson was quoted about the expansion. The restaurant's own page now lists daily hours of 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. It describes scratch-made meals with no seed oils and ingredients sourced from small and mid-sized farms in Tennessee and nearby states. It also offers ordering ahead, and it describes itself in terms of a lunch between meetings, a meal after a workout or dinner in the Gulch.

The Nashville Business Journal's August 10 restaurant roundup reported that All'Antico Vinaio had closed its Gulch location. The Florentine sandwich shop had opened at 622 8th Avenue South in May 2025, one of two Nashville locations the brand opened that spring, as What Now Nashville reported at the time. It is no longer on Paseo's directory. The changes on the block this year have both been lunch businesses, one at 620 and one at 622.

Three Parking Rules in One Garage

The parking rules confirm that this is a block for short visits. The main garage is at Prima. Maíz de la Vida places it at the corner of 8th Ave S and Paseo Place, and Carter Vintage sends drivers to the Prima garage entrance on Fogg Street. Validation isn't handled by the property as a whole. Each tenant sets its own terms:

  • Maíz de la Vida: 1.5 hours of validation on floors 1 through 3 of the Prima garage, by QR code inside the restaurant.
  • Two Hands: 1.5 hours, first come, first served, in unmarked spaces on garage levels 2 and 3. Guests scan the QR code on the parking space and get a validation code from the host.
  • Carter Vintage Guitars: one hour, validated at the front desk.

Next Health says only that parking is available within The Paseo. In practice, where you park depends on where you're going. If you're having breakfast at Two Hands, park on level 2 or 3. If you plan to have lunch at Maíz and then try guitars upstairs at Carter, keep in mind that each business validates its own visit and the guitar shop gives one hour.

The Showroom at 631

The larger version of Paseo comes next year. What Now Nashville reported on July 31 that Equinox had opened a membership showroom while construction continued and that the club was expected in early 2027. The showroom lets prospective members preview the club before it opens. When finished, the club is expected to cover roughly 34,000 square feet over three floors of the Bill Voorhees Co. building. Planned features include strength and cardio areas, group fitness studios, Reformer Pilates, a recovery area with sauna and cold plunge, and an on-site retail shop. Equinox lists the showroom at 631 8th Avenue South.

Early 2027 is later than the original target. In July 2025, SomeraRoad CEO Ian Ross told the Nashville Business Journal the club would open in June or July 2026, in an interview republished on Paseo's site. In the same interview, Ross said SomeraRoad had made "some changes" to its tenant mix to fit Equinox into the historic building. He described the project's purpose this way: "This is the place that's by a Nashville company for people in Nashville, that creates this really special home and collection of amenities within that home."

That same 2025 article put the full Paseo development at more than $1 billion and four towers. One of those towers is the 30-story home of Pendry Nashville and Pendry Residences Nashville. Paseo's May 26, 2026 update described the Pendry as under construction and still expected to open in 2027. Between now and those openings, the businesses described above are what's operating at Paseo.

The December Dates on and Near 8th Avenue

Paseo has one dated holiday event on the calendar so far. Next Health's Christmas Longevity Social is Thursday, December 17, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the clinic, with a caviar tasting and cryotherapy.

The bigger seasonal draw is a short walk north at Nashville Yards. Its Holiday Central season runs November 21 through January 3. Rink Under Broad, a real-ice rink, opens November 21. The Tree Lighting Ceremony is Saturday, November 28, at 5 p.m. at Ascension Saint Thomas Landing. That weekend also brings the Merry Market, Saturday, November 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Sunday, November 29, from noon to 3 p.m. Because The Patterson House opens at 4 p.m. and the Blind Barber Backroom runs until 2 a.m. on Saturdays, you can easily follow the tree lighting with an evening back on 8th Avenue South.

If you own a home near 8th Avenue South, the businesses on your block are part of what buyers see when they visit. Equinox and the Pendry are scheduled to open in 2027, so the block's mix will keep changing over the coming year.
